With the SHDTU-06-is Ethernet modem, high transmission speeds of up to 15.3 Mbit/s can be achieved via existing unshielded, twisted 2-wire copper cable for direct Ethernet network coupling.
The devices automatically or manually adapt their transmission speed to the quality of the line, thus enabling interference-free operation. When the Secure mode is switched on, stable data transmission is guaranteed even with poor quality lines. The transmission distance and speed depends on the line cross-section, the number of parallel G.SHDSL lines and possible interference (bandwidth adaptation). At 25 km without repeaters, speeds of 320 kbit/s can still be achieved. Repeater solutions are available for longer distances.
Transmission and data security are the important features of the SHDTU family. The requirements of DIN-27001, such as: port-based or tagged VLAN, management in own VLAN, secured access via HTTPS & SSH, password protection, SNMP v3, shutdown of unused ports, port-based MAC or IP filters, syslog and time synchronization are met. The route can be secured via VPN encryption and the modems can be used as full-fledged routers with firewall.
Special emphasis was placed on the user-friendly operation of the modems. All settings for standard operation can be made via the browser using HTTP/HTTPS on one page. The status page provides information about the device status. All configurations can be saved to external media and retrieved again.
The SHDTU modems are used in applications where a high degree of transmission security and reliability is required, e.g. in utility sectors such as electricity, water, gas, district heating, traffic, etc. The robust design with metal housing, DIN rail mounting, extended temperature range and redundant supply voltage of 12-60VDC make these modems suitable for use in harsh environments. Central 19″ solutions are available. The SHDTU modems support all standard technologies and are compatible to all ATM/EFM based G.SHDSL router/bridge systems.
