With the SHDTU-10-is Ethernet modem, high transmission speeds of up to 15.3 / 30.6 / 61.2 Mbit/s can be achieved via existing unshielded, twisted 2 / 4 or 8-wire copper lines for direct Ethernet network coupling.

The transmission distance and speed depend on the line cross-section, the number of parallel G.SHDSL lines and any interference (bandwidth adaptation). At 25 km without repeaters, speeds of 320 kbit/s have still been achieved. Repeater solutions are available for even greater ranges. If the secure mode is switched on, stable data transmission is guaranteed even on bad lines.

The SHDTU-10-is can also be operated in bus or ring connection, which means that only one device per station is required for 2- and 4-wire applications.
Transmission and data security are the important features of the SHDTU family. The requirements of DIN-27001, such as: port-based o.tagged VLAN, management in own VLAN, secured access via HTTPS & SSH, password protection, SNMP v3, shutdown of unused ports, port-based MAC-o. IP filters, syslog and time synchronization are fulfilled. The route can be secured by VPN encryption and the modems can be used as full-fledged routers with firewall.

Special emphasis was placed on the user-friendly operation of the modems. All settings for standard operation can be made via the browser using HTTP/HTTPS. The status page provides information about the device status. All configurations can be saved to external media and reloaded if required.

The SHDTU modems are used in applications where a high degree of transmission security and reliability is required, e.g. in utility sectors such as electricity, water, gas, district heating, traffic, etc. The robust design with metal housing, DIN rail mounting, extended temperature range and redundant supply voltage of 12-60 VDC make these modems suitable for use in harsh environments. Centrally mounted 19″ solutions are available.

The SHDTU modems support all standard technologies and are compatible to all ATM/EFM based G.SHDSL router/bridge systems.

We recommend the use of our surge protection DSL-FLÜ
