With the SHRM-08-s Ethernet card, high transmission speeds of up to 15.3 / 30.6 Mbit/s can be achieved via existing unshielded, twisted 2- or 4-wire copper cable for direct Ethernet network coupling. The modem card automatically or manually adapts its transmission speed to the quality of the line, thus enabling trouble-free operation.
When the secure mode is switched on, stable data transmission is guaranteed even on bad lines. The transmission distance and speed depends on the line cross-section, the number of parallel G.SHDSL lines and possible disturbance variables (bandwidth adaptation).
The SHRM-08s can be operated in a bus circuit, which means that in 2-wire applications only one module is required for 2 external modems. Transmission and data security are the important features of the SHDTU family. The requirements of DIN-27001, such as: port-based o.Tagged-VLAN, management in own VLAN, secured access via HTTPS & SSH, password protection, SNMP v3, shutdown of unused ports, port-based MAC-o. IP-filter, syslog and time synchronization are fulfilled. The route can be secured by VPN encryption and the modems can be used as full-fledged routers with firewall.
Special emphasis was placed on the user-friendly operation of the modems. All settings for standard operation can be made via the browser using HTTP/HTTPS on one page. The status page provides information about the device status. All configurations can be saved to external media and retrieved again.
The SHDTU modems are used in applications where a high degree of transmission security and reliability is required, such as in utility areas (electricity, water, gas, district heating, traffic, etc.) these modems are suitable for use in harsh environments.
The modems are also available in DIN rail housing or as desktop devices. The SHDTU modems support all standard technologies and are compatible to all ATM/EFM based G.SHDSL router/bridge systems.
