The TMO-100 is a radio modem for data transmission in TETRA networks. These modems enable transparent data communication between two or more nodes in a TETRA network.
The TMO-100 combines the functions of a telecontrol station, router, modem and a Tetra radio in a single compact DIN rail housing.
The TMO-100 supports serial and IP-based data communications. It has two serial data interfaces (RS-232 or RS-485/422) and one Ethernet (10/100 Mbit/s) port. Two modes are available for data transmission in TETRA networks: SDS-based communication or packet data transmission.
Optional voice communication is also available, allowing field personnel to talk to a control room directly through the modem.
The TMO-100 can also be supplied with optional integrated digital and/or analog inputs and outputs that can be read and set remotely via Modbus RTU or IEC 60870 protocol. Also possible is a fault reporting function that automatically transmits information about an input change to another station or a TETRA terminal as soon as an alarm condition occurs.
All configuration settings can be easily made via the integrated web server function. This means that a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox can be used for complete device setup.
The integrated modem core supports all communication modes defined in the Tetra standard such as transmit and receive status, SDS communication, Circuit Switched Data and Packet Switched Data. Multi Slot Packet Data is available upon request.
In addition to the telemetry and telecontrol functions, the unit offers many useful options: Restart Alarm: An SDS can be sent after each power-up of the device (e.g. after a voltage drop). Remote field strength monitoring: After sending a predefined status message or SDS, the TMO responds with the field strength in -dBm.
